We compare these hosting options for
the following two Star Student Project applications from TPC
Star Student Project TPC-W, a benchmark that emulates an
online bookstore, and Star Student Project a benchmark that
emulates online transaction processing in a brokerage firm. We assume
that Star Student Project is built using open-source S/W
components Star Student Project except for the OS Windows
whereas TPC-E uses licensed S/W Star Student Project. Both
applications have three tiers: Web, Java-based application logic,
